Jenny Day (b.1981) lives with her husband on an historic off-grid ranch in Cerrillos, New Mexico. When she is not making art she is restoring multiple adobe buildings, learning about grassland restoration, and caring for her horses, sight hounds, and chickens.
She earned an MFA in Painting from the University of Arizona, a BFA in Painting from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Cruz.
Her exhibition record includes Taoxichuan International Ceramic Museum , Jinghdezen, China, Arte Laguna in Venice, Italy, Czong Institute for Contemporary Art in Korea, Museum of Art Fort Collins, Phoenix Art Museum, Blue Star Contemporary Museum in San Antonio, TX, Alabama Contemporary in Mobile, AL, and Elmhurst Museum in Chicago, IL. Day's work has been supported by grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation, Puffin Foundation, Phoenix Art Museum, Process Museum and multiple public art purchase awards. Day has been an artist in residence at Anderson Ranch, Greenwich House Pottery, Ucross Foundation, Jentel Foundation, Playa Foundation For The Arts, and many other artist residencies.
Day’s work is represented by Ferrara Showman Gallery in New Orleans, Louisiana, Visions West in Denver, Colorado and Bozeman, Montana, and Galerie Bengelstrater in Dusseldorf, Germany.
