NEARLY SOMEWHERE

Nearly Somewhere, is influenced by concepts of arrival and departure to an elsewhere or a someplace.  The work explores visions of utopia and dystopia to examine the divergence between the manufactured and natural landscape.  Influenced by the overlap of modern infrastructure, architecture and environmental degradation, the work investigates the construction of our relationship to land, water, and the built environment. Employing a lens of cultural geography to determine how place is created, the work captures the layered interactions between self and the environment.
